Paris Charilaou, M.D.

Dr. Charilaou is the Advanced IBD Fellow at the Jill Roberts Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Weill Cornell Medicine. He received his MD at the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague, Czechia. He then spent two years as a post-doctoral clinical researcher at Yale University and completed his post-graduate training with a residency in Internal Medicine and a Gastroenterology & Hepatology Fellowship at Rutgers/Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, under the mentorship of Dr C.S. Pitchumoni. He received his Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction from Emeritus/Columbia Executive Education in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.His main aim is to provide innovative, comprehensive and compassionate care to his IBD patients. Dr. Charilaou’s research interest is in precision medicine in IBD and developing clinical prediction tools, that are based on big-data and artificial intelligence/machine-learning methodologies.
